It just seems that I feel like I'm old because I am now appreciating red wine more....nah just kidding! but really for some reason when me and my college friends get together we tend to drink red wine....well me and Michelle anyway! :D

Mini stop's Promos and Quick food review! ^^,
Ola!
Happy Friday!
When you are in a hurry where do you buy your food?
Mcdonalds? Jollibee? or any convenience store?
I mostly go to Ministop or 7-11 to buy food since I don't really eat a lot...well maybe if I haven't eaten breakfast.
On that note, most commonly I go to ministop because of their friendly cashiers. I'll do another post about the cashiers on my other blog ^^,
I am the type of person that usually talks to the cashiers if they are friendly. Its by chance that the ladies at ministop Pearl Dr here in Ortigas were really nice to tell me about some of their promos at the moment.
First promo they have is the cool treats at mini stop. Basically if you buy a 5 giant sundae cones the 6th giant sundae cone is free! and to prove that you will be given a loyalty card the one I have. I'm not really sure though if all branches of ministop has this.
Quick Review about their giant sundae cone.
Things that I Like:
-- Really Cheap! Only 15 php each.
-- The flavors are awesome. Although it changes from time to time. I am currently loving their chocolate strawberry.
-- 1 cone is just enough to fill your ice cream craving
Things that I Don't Like:
-- You have to eat this quickly because it melts quickly.
-- You have to eat this quickly because it melts quickly.
Verdict??
A winner! I love ice creams and this is one of my favorites! ^^,
Will I purchase again?
No questions ask....YES!
Lets go the the next promo that they have. They have this promo on their fried chickens that if you buy either 1 piece or 2 piece chickens you get a 500ml pepsi!
I actually don't eat lunch at home because I have to go to work at around 12nn. When I say their fried chicken I was like
"teh anlaki naman nyan!" (That's so big!)
I actually though this has more flour for breading than the actual meat, but it was actually not that! haha! The gravy and rice though were a bit of a let down because the rice is not that hot while the grave was a tad watery and has a lot of black pepper.
Quick review again!
What I like:
- Great buy for 120!
- Really yummy chicken.
- The 2 piece chicken is actually good for four if you look at the size of the chicken.
What I don't like:
- Gravy was a bit watery and has a lot of pepper.
- Rice was not hot :(
Verdict?
I still like it! even though the rice and gravy was a let down, the chicken was superb. You could honestly go on a food coma after this if you like the food haha! joking aside though this is an awesome meal if you are on a budget!
I know its not THAT healthy to eat this everyday. I suggest to eat this at least twice a week and have a friend to share the big chicken okay?
That's it for my blog post today! I hope you like it! If you have questions or suggestions of good restaurants I can try out here in Manila please do comment down below and I will talk to you soon ok?
Much Love!

Night Out with my College Friends
![]() |
| From L to R: Marica, Danica, Michelle, Kathy, Gracie, and Joan |
Last Saturday I was able to hang out with my college friends in Michelle's house.
If you are one of my readers Michelle is one of my biggest supporter and my uber best friend.
We actually started at around 5pm because some of us came a little later than the time that was set up haha! Sorry Filipino time again LOL
Of course since it has been a while since we got together there were a lot of catching up to do. And also a lot of gossiping, its a normal thing since WE are girls you know! haha!
The initial plan was actually a night out in Eastwood, then it became Madison's then Padi's Cubao. But the final decision was in Michelle's house. You should have seen the thread we made on Facebook, it was like a week's worth!
![]() |
| Random moment. |
Hanging out with my college girl friends is actually much fun than those with my High school friends. There I said it. Because I can't connect with their likes to what I like. I'm fairly a girly girl in person if you ask me. And I was a different person when I was in High school, Its nowhere near what I am right now.
Going back to the topic.
It was actually a bit awkward when we started, it was like when we were in Freshman year in college all over again haha! but later on we were able to get comfortable.
![]() |
| bottle number 1. |
We started the evening with a bottle of red wine from Italy. We also got a lesson about wine from Michelle's tito Arnold :)
The second bottle that we had was a bit harder to finish than the first one. The second wine actually didn't tasted that good. ick!
We also had pizza! haha! we were actually planning on ordering Big Guy's Pizza but when we were informed that it will be delivered at 10 pm we just said THANK YOU!
The ever so known "Dyahe" piece. And for some reason I was the one who ate this piece.
We also had Pancit Palabok from.... I forgot! sorry haha! but it tasted really good. ^_^
Here are some of the pictures of what happened.
Enjoy! :)

| I am really sorry for the exaggerated pose. WE WERE HUNGRY! |
And now I leave you with a picture of one of my friends who got first serving of the pancit palabok

Cheap Thrills for 50 pesos
Being a curious person I always find unique ways to save money and have fun at the same time.
While I was in college, my usual budget for the day is actually believe it or not is 50 pesos. And up until now I still can live with that amount of money in my pocket.
And believe me I am still able to save up some money from that. Its all a matter of self control and discipline.
Here are some things you can do with your 50 pesos.
1. Buy 30 pesos worth of Pan De Sal and a Big bottle of RC cola. Basically the big bottle costs around 17 - 20 pesos, you'll be lucky if it only 17 pesos because you still have 3 pesos to spare.
2. 2 and a half hours of internet time in the computer shop. Some computer rentals actually offer more 15 pesos per hour charges. You can play some online games and check your email at the same time.
3. Buy yourself 2 ice cream cones from Selecta. 1 cone is 25 pesos.
4. Load! of course Philippines has a lot of prepaid loading station so at least get yourself one.
5. with 20 pesos you can enjoy a relaxing massage in the mall. There are those massage chairs in the mall.
6. Get a hair cut. Some salons and barbershops offer 50 pesos haircuts, but don't expect a world-renowned expert to do it okay?
7. If you like street food you can get 20 fishballs for 10 pesos (.50 cents each), 6 kikiam for 15 pesos (2.50 pesos each), 6 squidballs for 15 pesos (2.50 pesos each) and a large cup of samalamig.
8. 5 packs of crispy chicken skin. Yes I know this is full of cholesterol and stuff, its not like you are going to eat this all by yourself, get real! This is best to share with your friends over a bucket of beer and also with a dip of vinegar with chili.
9. An order of Angel's Cheese burger with drinks. This roughly costs around 45 pesos, you still have some spare cash after this.
and last but not the least....
10. Enjoy a salad D'Lite from KFC for 49 pesos!
Much Love!

Biiiiiiigggggg Pizzzaaaa!!!! :))
We just had a pizza party here at the office.
36 inches of hawaiian and all meat. Isn't it just so tempting? Haha!
Another sira diet moment for Alice LOL
I only had 2 slices. So that means I would have to walk for like 2 hours in the treadmill, do 50 crunches, 30 mins of running and will have to cut back on rice again. haha! way to torture myself right?
But I have been dieting diligently but I think I need to pump up my exercise more.
I'm planning on buying hip hop abs this weekend.
And why did I end up talking about my plans again? LOL
I'm thinking of asking my brother if we can buy this for this Sunday's celebration. Maybe yes maybe no. Not really sure if he'd say yes but I will try to persuade my snitch of a brother LOL
for 1288 pesos you get a 36 inches pizza. One downside though is you have to wait for like 45 mins to an hour. but the wait won't put you in vain, the taste is just explainable.
The crust is not like those of Shakey's, Pizza Hut or other pizza joint.
This is a perfect barkada food if you ask me.
We bought this from Big Guy's Pizza. Check out their Facebook page here.
They have two locations in Ortigas.
1. Ortigas: G/F Madison Square Ortigas, Madison St. Cor. Ortigas Avenue (Near Xavier).2. Libis: G/F Madsion Square Libis, E. Rodriguez Jr. (Across Shopwise)
Much Love!

Favorite Rainy Season Treats
Ola!
How was your weekend? Was is as breezy as mine? haha! kidding aside I have a new post for you all!
I know the past week had been a bitch, don't deny! it has been raining since Monday and I hate it when it rains! The only thing that I like when it is raining is I don't have to go to school when I was younger. But now that I am working I have to suck it up because the only reason I can skip work is either I am sick or I am stuck because of flooding.
Since it has been raining I was able to enjoy some simple treats to beat the cold weather.
I am currently on a diet, but I am allowed to have soups on that diet. and I was able to enjoy Beef Mami and some Lucky Me with Embutido omelet.

Another Banchetto Friday! (April 01, 2011)

(sorry if the picture is a bit blurry)
How was your week?
For me it was okay, could have been better though.
So last Friday me and my office mates decided to spend some time over at Banchetto.
If you don't know what Banchetto is, it is a weekend food bazaar of a sort that offers a lot of food in affordable prices. It has local cuisines, korean food, and also street food like isaw (chicken or pork intestines), betamax (blood) and other sorts of food you can think of.
Before we went to the banchetto, we dropped by McDonald's for some pre-banchetto food - fries and hot fudge sundae. Afterwards we went over at 103.5 wowfm to greet one of our friends Martin T. He is actually one of the nicest Dj's I've met ^_^
(enjoying the fries and sundae while checking our facebook accounts haha)
Then this is the fun part.

I ordered isaw, dugo, and pork fat and a corn cob
Denise ordered Ddukbokki (spicy rice cakes)
Joanne ordered Fried Pork Chop
Leizl ordered Pork adobo
Gelai ordered Salad from Buckaroo
and in total I think we only spent around 400+ pesos which is really cheap! ^^

I was actually able to stay up until 6 am within the vicinity and its so great! ^_^
And I got something for my mom.... I got her Kim Mari! for only 50 pesos! and my mom loved it! ^_^
well that's it for this week's adventure I'll try to be on the look out for more places to explore ^_^
much love!

Pig out Moment! : Mcdonald's and Ortigas' Banchetto
Hello girls! How was your week?
For me, its a very lethal one. But it was okay haha!
There was another pig out moment I got into. haha! but before I start rambling what happened I would just like to say sorry because the pictures will have to wait...I wasn't able to bring my camera in this edition, I do have some pictures taken from my friend's phone.. I'll post them as soon as she forward's it to me! promise! hehe...
okay so going back to the pig out... It was a not so good of a day for us to tell you honestly. So we decided to just hang out at McDonald's near my office to let out some steam.
At McDonald's we ordered 2 Large French Fries, 1 coke Float, 2 hot fudge sundae and 1 caramel sundae. I had one of the Hot Fudge sundaes since I have been craving for it for days.
Then after sharing some stories and laughs we went over to Banchetto. If you work within the Ortigas area you would have known this place ages ago.. haha just kidding.
Banchetto is a midnight food bazaar of a sort. It mostly caters to the call center agents within the area, but due to its popularity even non- call center go there for a taste of great food that is affordable. Kinda neat huh? I think so too.
Honestly speaking, I did not have enough money that time because my allowance was set for another 9 more days before my salary. But I was stricken with my craving for some ddukbokki (spicy rice cakes) and kimbap
I love to eat Korean food and I found this great stall that sells authentic Korean food! yey!
We actually waited for 30 minutes for the Ddukbokki and you know what we got? more that that of course! haha!
We originally ordered Ddukbokki, but instead we got
1 Ddukbokki with Kim Mari (ordered by Denise)
1 Japchae(ordered by Joanne)
1 Kim bap (My order)
and 1 Bulgogi (Freebie!)
hehe.. we got a free order of bulgogi! yey!
We also bought a Longsilog from another stall which is Longganisa, Fried egg and Fried Rice.
The food was over whelming to look at first, but we were able to finish it. ^_^
To the Korean Family that was very nice to us
맛있는 식사를 주셔서 너무 감사합니다!
^_^
well see yah to the next pig out moment!
Much love!

Random Pig Out Moments: Backstreet Restaurants of Cubao

Happy Saturday!
I'm back with a new post!
Besides from traveling, I also love to eat out with my friends.
You can say I am a food connoisseur in my own right since I like to eat good food at affordable prices.
I usually call it a "Pig out moment" when it is something that just came up.

On our first stop, we ate at Joey's, which I heard from a friend that lives within the area that it is really popular.
If you like I would do a proper review about this place, just comment below ayt? :)
Unfortunately, I wasn't able to take a picture of the food we had there since we just came there to eat... sorry :(

I came with my officemates, Denise and Thea.
I had Palabok, Denise had Chicksilog and Thea had Hotsilog.
It was soooo yummy!
Our second stop was Blink(er)
Its just adjacent of Joey's, and we had some Halo Halo.
I would definitely say their halo halo is great. Their Supreme Halo halo costs 80 PHP (approx $1.84 USD) which was superb since it has 2 ice cream scoops and also the typical halo halo ingredients. It has leche flan, Ube, Sago, nata de coco and the rest. ^_^
If you like to try new things, especially on food I suggest you try to look on the most unexpected places - like the backstreets of Cubao.
I will have more of this on the days to come. In the mean time I'll leave you with a picture of my perfectly finished Halo halo to drool on...haha!
