Cheap Thrills for 50 pesos

Being a curious person I always find unique ways to save money and have fun at the same time.

While I was in college, my usual budget for the day is actually believe it or not is 50 pesos. And up until now I still can live with that amount of money in my pocket.

And believe me I am still able to save up some money from that. Its all a matter of self control and discipline.

Here are some things you can do with your 50 pesos.

1. Buy 30 pesos worth of Pan De Sal and a Big bottle of RC cola. Basically the big bottle costs around 17 - 20 pesos, you'll be lucky if it only 17 pesos because you still have 3 pesos to spare.

2. 2 and a half hours of internet time in the computer shop. Some computer rentals actually offer more 15 pesos per hour charges. You can play some online games and check your email at the same time.

3. Buy yourself 2 ice cream cones from Selecta. 1 cone is 25 pesos.

4. Load! of course Philippines has a lot of prepaid loading station so at least get yourself one.

5. with 20 pesos you can enjoy a relaxing massage in the mall. There are those massage chairs in the mall.

6. Get a hair cut. Some salons and barbershops offer 50 pesos haircuts, but don't expect a world-renowned expert to do it okay?

7. If you like street food you can get 20 fishballs for 10 pesos (.50 cents each),  6 kikiam for 15 pesos (2.50 pesos each), 6 squidballs for 15 pesos (2.50 pesos each) and a large cup of samalamig.

8. 5 packs of crispy chicken skin. Yes I know this is full of cholesterol and stuff, its not like you are going to eat this all by yourself, get real! This is best to share with your friends over a bucket of beer and also with a dip of vinegar with chili.

9. An order of Angel's Cheese burger with drinks. This roughly costs around 45 pesos, you still have some spare cash after this.

and last but not the least....

10. Enjoy a salad D'Lite from KFC for 49 pesos!

Fat Burning Foods -- take your pick

Ola!

There are a lot of fat burning foods out there, but one thing you can do is to at least choose those that are available in your area. Here are some of the fat burning foods you can have for your diet.

Fruits rich in Vit C

fruits rich in vitamin C (ascorbic acid) like lime, tomatoes, lemons, oranges, guava, grapefruit, papaya, sweet lime, and tangerines. Vitamin C is said to help the body to process fat faster and also stimulate the carnatine amino acids which speeds up the fat burning process. It also dilutes the fat and it makes it less effective and also helps it in releasing the fat from our body.

Apples.
Apples have Pectin that restricts cells to absorc the fat in our body. Apples also encourages absorption of water in order to release the fat deposits in our body. Apples also have tons of antioxidants.

Dairy products rich in calcium.
Milk, cheese and yogurt can actually help you in burningfat since it increases fat breakdown.

Nuts.
We've all seen tips that say that nuts like almond and cashews can help us slim down but they don't really explain why. Nuts will actually help up keep full while also increasing our body's ability to burn fat.

Green Tea.
Green tea not only soothes us but also revs up our metabolism so don't deprive yourself from a cup or two a day.

Whole Grain Cereals.
This one is a no-brainer since Whole Grain is a staple for everyone who is on a diet. Whole grain cereals are packed with complex carbs and fiber that is good for our digestion and also to keep up with our metabolism.

Chicken.
Chicken is actually good for boosting our metabolism. Try this for a change- substitute protein for one fifth of the carbs you eat and you'll notice that more calories were burned.

Those are the food you can try to lessen those fat in our bodies.

Biiiiiiigggggg Pizzzaaaa!!!! :))

We just had a pizza party here at the office.

36 inches of hawaiian and all meat. Isn't it just so tempting? Haha!

Another sira diet moment for Alice LOL

I only had 2 slices. So that means I would have to walk for like 2 hours in the treadmill, do 50 crunches, 30 mins of running and will have to cut back on rice again. haha! way to torture myself right?

But I have been dieting diligently but I think I need to pump up my exercise more.

I'm planning on buying hip hop abs this weekend.

And why did I end up talking about my plans again? LOL

I'm thinking of asking my brother if we can buy this for this Sunday's celebration. Maybe yes maybe no. Not really sure if he'd say yes but I will try to persuade my snitch of a brother LOL

for 1288 pesos you get a 36 inches pizza. One downside though is you have to wait for like 45 mins to an hour. but the wait won't put you in vain, the taste is just explainable.

The crust is not like those of Shakey's, Pizza Hut or other pizza joint.

This is a perfect barkada food if you ask me.

We bought this from Big Guy's Pizza. Check out their Facebook page here.

They have two locations in Ortigas.
1. Ortigas: G/F Madison Square Ortigas, Madison St. Cor. Ortigas Avenue (Near Xavier).
2. Libis: G/F Madsion Square Libis, E. Rodriguez Jr. (Across Shopwise)

Where was I yesterday? -- Urbanears blogger event at Eastwood Mall

Ola! happy Saturday for all!

Yesterday was a very very very fine day because I didn't have to go to work! Yes! haha!

But above that I was invited on an event by Urbanears at Digital Walker Cafe in Eastwood Mall.

^_^

I was excited yet scared at the same time because it was the first event I went to from the Pinoy Bloggers group in Facebook.

So lets talk about the event itself. Basically its an intimate event to introduce the brand Urbanears.
Urbanears is a company that solely makes headsets and headphones. The company is based in Stockholm, Sweden. I actually haven't heard from them and I don't really have a lot of expectations about the product since there are a lot of headphones available in the market.

One thing that struck me during the presentation was what is the company's vission and mission. Its vision is to make headsets that fit your everday life. It also adds a little bit of "color" to the concept of sound. These headphones come in 4 designs:  BAGIS, MEDIS, TANTO and PLANTA.

I'll make another post solely about this four designs and urbanears, for now I will be talking about the experience and the food. What's the sense of me making this a food and travel blog without those? haha!

And also I promise I'll be making a proper review about this in  2 weeks so I won't spill any info. Lets talk about the event for now.

John, Mommy Lariza, Zhyeme, and Mitch

A lot of other bloggers were there like John (of Kumagcow), Vance (of angtakawko), Mitch (of glamourmoments) and among others. I was also finally able to meet Riza (of Manilenamom and rizawritten

We also enjoyed great food from Digital walker cafe. We had corn soup, Egg and Japanese Gravy Hamburger steak and juice. I think I had Pomegranate juice.

The food was awesome. One serving of their Egg and Japanese Gravy Hamburger is actually good for two. Sira ang diet ko! LOL

The Japanese Gravy sauce was quite salty but good. The Corn soup was phenomenal if I may say because its creamy and filling. I actually had to let my entree wait for like 20 minutes before I ate it haha!

So regarding the food, they are great in taste and also great in price. As I said earlier the entree that was served was actually 245 per serving, its actually great for 2 people ^_^

I really had a great time meeting great people from Pinoy Bloggers. I would specially thank Sir Carlo Ople for inviting me to the event till the next event!

Much Love!
