What is your Favorite summer treat?

Summer is finally here!

I've thought about this post for a while and I think this is the right time to share my favorite summer treats for you! ^_^

1. Halo halo, Saba con yelo, Sago't Gulaman

I've put these three at the top of my list mainly because these are the summer treats I grew up loving all these years.

I think that my summer wouldn't be complete without these three ^_^

2. Ice Scramble

Ice Scramble had a reputation of not being a good afternoon treat for the kids back then.

I was actually not allowed to have one up until I was 12.

Ice Scramble is basically shaved ice, skimmed milk, chocolate or strawberry syrup and some toppings.

I love that you can easily buy this anywhere nowadays. There is a stall or kiosk of ice scramble in every corner. Okay I will definitely have this tomorrow for dessert! haha!

3. Granita and Gelato.

This is an Italian treat I love. Granita is like a cold drink with fresh fruits. Gelato is basically Ice cream ^_^

I had a taste of Granita when my aunt from Italy came home 2005 and she made one for me and my cousins.

Gelato is what I really like the most because its creamier than the local ice cream and it has fruit bits in it.

4. A glass of cold Iced tea.

This one is a no-brainer since I drink Iced tea almost every day.

I actually drink iced tea more than water... is that even normal? haha!

I like to make my own iced tea at home. I don't really like drinking the instant iced tea because they have lots of sugar which is bad (Sorry Nestea!)

6. Ice cream!

This is my guilty pleasure.

Ice cream would just make you want to forget anything when it is hot.

I usually eat Ice cream 2 times a week which is kind of normal if you ask me. I wouldn't recommend eating more than that per week because it has lots of sugar which can be bad for you.

So these are my favorite treats for summer. I actually have more than 6 but these will do. ^_^

So... what is your Favorite summer treat? let me know in the comment box or at the cbox

have a great summer!

much love!

Pig out Moment! : Mcdonald's and Ortigas' Banchetto

Hello girls! How was your week?
For me, its a very lethal one. But it was okay haha!

There was another pig out moment I got into. haha! but before I start rambling what happened I would just like to say sorry because the pictures will have to wait...I wasn't able to bring my camera in this edition, I do have some pictures taken from my friend's phone.. I'll post them as soon as she forward's it to me! promise! hehe...

okay so going back to the pig out... It was a not so good of a day for us to tell you honestly. So we decided to just hang out at McDonald's near my office to let out some steam.

At McDonald's we ordered 2 Large French Fries, 1 coke Float, 2 hot fudge sundae and 1 caramel sundae. I had one of the Hot Fudge sundaes since I have been craving for it for days.

Then after sharing some stories and laughs we went over to Banchetto. If you work within the Ortigas area you would have known this place ages ago.. haha just kidding.

Banchetto is a midnight food bazaar of a sort. It mostly caters to the call center agents within the area, but due to its popularity even non- call center go there for a taste of great food that is affordable. Kinda neat huh? I think so too.

Honestly speaking, I did not have enough money that time because my allowance was set for another 9 more days before my salary. But I was stricken with my craving for some ddukbokki (spicy rice cakes) and kimbap

I love to eat Korean food and I found this great stall that sells authentic Korean food! yey!

We actually waited for 30 minutes for the Ddukbokki and you know what we got? more that that of course! haha!

We originally ordered Ddukbokki, but instead we got
1 Ddukbokki with Kim Mari (ordered by Denise)
1 Japchae(ordered by Joanne)
1 Kim bap (My order)
and 1 Bulgogi (Freebie!)

hehe.. we got a free order of bulgogi! yey!

We also bought a Longsilog from another stall which is Longganisa, Fried egg and Fried Rice.

The food was over whelming to look at first, but we were able to finish it. ^_^

To the Korean Family that was very nice to us

맛있는 식사를 주셔서 너무 감사합니다!

^_^

well see yah to the next pig out moment!

Much love!

Itching for Tagaytay and Baguio! :D

a lot of people I know have been telling me to go to tagaytay or baguio with them this summer.

I am a girl that loves the sun in the summer. I am very fair and the effects can be weird. I actually turn red like a lobster..haha!

So talking about tagaytay and baguio, I am planning a trip to either two.

Why tagaytay and baguio you ask? for one thing, both places are cold which I have not experienced spending a weekend there. I have experienced the food of tagaytay about a year or two ago and all I can say is eating bulalo while viewing the taal volcano is such a refreshing experience...and I wanna go back for more! haha!

I have honestly not been in Baguio in my 22 years of existence in this earth. Can you believe it? LOL that is why I am making it one of the things I have to accomplish this year! :D

Tagaytay and Baguio are mostly the places that I have only heard stories from. Baguio is well known for being the summer capital of the Philippines because of its climate. My brother once told me that they rented a room in Baguio for 2 nights and 2 days, they didn't even used the air conditioning because it was sooo cold! I wanna experience that too! hehe

I have been curious what Baguio looks like. I have seen pictures and heard stories about great places to visit. And what I really like is the fact that you can experience of wearing your scarf in a cold climate rather than looking like a fool wearing one in 32 degrees of heat in manila! haha!

So wish me luck! I plan to go there by this June so it will be less crowded :)

any tips or ideas? comment below! :D

much love!

Random Pig Out Moments: Backstreet Restaurants of Cubao

Happy Saturday!

I'm back with a new post!

Besides from traveling, I also love to eat out with my friends.
You can say I am a food connoisseur in my own right since I like to eat good food at affordable prices.

I usually call it a "Pig out moment" when it is something that just came up.

On our first stop, we ate at Joey's, which I heard from a friend that lives within the area that it is really popular.

If you like I would do a proper review about this place, just comment below ayt? :)

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to take a picture of the food we had there since we just came there to eat... sorry :(

I came with my officemates, Denise and Thea.

I had Palabok, Denise had Chicksilog and Thea had Hotsilog.

It was soooo yummy!

Our second stop was Blink(er)

Its just adjacent of Joey's, and we had some Halo Halo.

I would definitely say their halo halo is great. Their Supreme Halo halo costs 80 PHP (approx $1.84 USD) which was superb since it has 2 ice cream scoops and also the typical halo halo ingredients. It has leche flan, Ube, Sago, nata de coco and the rest. ^_^

If you like to try new things, especially on food I suggest you try to look on the most unexpected places - like the backstreets of Cubao.

I will have more of this on the days to come. In the mean time I'll leave you with a picture of my perfectly finished Halo halo to drool on...haha!

Much love!

My First Out of Town Trip!

(this is the side of their Olympic pool)

Hello! This is my first Blog in my travels. I actually don't travel that much because I have too many things to do. But I made it my Resolution to visit as many places in the Philippines as possible this year and to many more years to come.

In my first travel, me and my office mates planned on having a summer outing. And one of my friend first said that we can go to Zambales since its so beautiful there. But than plan was scratched and my boss suggested we go to Laguna since they have tons of hot springs there. But there was a problem about the budget.

Our last option was Antipolo which is like 45 minutes to at least an hour ride from Manila.

So it was decided, Antipolo it is. The next question was what resort should we go to. We thought about Loreland which is a big resort in Antipolo but the rates there are so high that I was thinking of backing out.

One of my friends suggested Bosay Resort.

At first I did not know what to say because I haven't been there but since I have seen their resort thru their website I was impressed because they have 7 pools and 15 cottages to choose from.

(from the entrance you can see the rates of the cottages. )

Their cottage rates run from 600 - 40,000.

Their 40,000 is actually good for pax of 400-450 persons. Their pax of 600 is good for 8-10 persons. So cheap right? and you can use all their facilities like the pools, the Karaoke machine (upon request) and basket ball court.

(my officemates, feeling haggard but still had time for some picture taking! LOL)

On the way to Bosay was ok.

ONE TIP FOR ALL: When renting a Public Utility Jeepney, ONLY talk to ONE person - that is the DRIVER.

This is one thing I have learned because the jeepney that we rented actually said yes if we can rent his jeepney and payment would be per head. The condition was 35 php per head (estimated .81 cents USD) but he refused because there are only 15 of us riding his jeep. So we agreed that instead of 35 php per head it would be 40 php (estimated .92 cents USD)

One thing to remember about jeepney drivers here in the Philippines, is not ALL of them are nice. I don't generalize jeepney drivers because I am a commuter ever since I was young and I would just encounter these rude types of jeepney driver when they think they don't get the profit they deserve. These drivers are what I call "greedy bastards".

So back to the story, on the way was nice since almost every one was in a jolly mood. But when we arrived at the resort I was feeling sick from the trip because the driver was driving too fast and I just ate breakfast then. Ugh! the pain I was in when we arrived.

(me and mami Renee, one of my officemates)

One thing that I say I mostly like about the resort is the fact that they have cheap rates in their cottages.

Their staff are also very nice because when I was in the bathroom I actually asked their attendants if they have medicine for dizziness, he gave me one and thankfully I was able to recover after 10 minutes.

(I am not a happy camper face)

the resort is great because:

1. only 45mins to 1 hour from Manila
2. There are lots of cottages to choose from.
3. Very Cheap rates!
4. Great facilities and staff.

there were only 2 things I wasn't able to like about the resort.

1. Their Therapy Pool is not that therapeutic, because its cold water.
2. some of their pools require you to be in proper swimwear attire
(either one piece or two piece)

The experience was great because I was able to have a day of relaxation with my office mates.

Till the next adventure!
